While rats are typically nocturnal, squirrels are most active during the day, particularly at sunrise and sunset. Like rats, they leave droppings and damage insulation by tunneling through it. Diagnosing a squirrel problem can be challenging, as they don't always leave droppings inside the home. Squirrels are commonly found in attics and upper floors, accessing these areas through small roofing holes.
